Delighted to have been shortlisted as a potential front cover contributor for an Oxfam 2019 calendar - with this image taken in Rajasthan a couple of years ago. See it at @oxfamnovib. They’re running a worldwide poll to see which of 2 shortlisted images people would like to see featured.
Fresh back from 15 days of independent travel through Central Iran, and now sorting through the images. A fascinating and overwhelmingly friendly country, full of scenic wonders and history. Highlights included the cities of Isfahan, Shiraz and Yazd, and a trip into the Kaluts region of the Dash-e-Lut desert where summer midday temperatures can peak at 70ºC.
A deviation from the usual, to instead take a relatively short-haul flight from London to Bulgaria and explore its capital, Sofia, the fabulous monastery at Rila, Bankso in the Pirin mountains, and the rural environs of Gorno Draglishte. Thanks to friend and fellow photographer Steve Davey for pulling together a brilliant trip and putting in the many hours behind the wheel. All said, a highly recommended and less-visited part of Europe, with an amazing vibe, great food and decent selection of requisite wine.. returning home with a glorious barrage of images (yet to be edited and posted) … and a broken, but healing, now titanium-reinforced collarbone (bionic !)
... my twentieth century website gets replaced with this, finally. Welcome to my new site. It's still a work in progress, and hopefully will be for a very long time yet. Many thanks to all the excellent folks at Squarespace for the hosting arrangement.
